Reading can be very stressful because I want to finish the book quickly because I NEED to know what happens but I also don’t want to finish it quickly because I don’t want it to end

Reading is for everyone.
I don’t care if you’re a girl.
I don’t care if you’re a guy.
I don’t care if you haven’t decided what gender you are yet.
I don’t care if you’re a dragon.
Or a sheep.
If you want to read, you pick of the damn book and read it.

You should read the book that you hear two booksellers arguing about at the registers while you’re browsing in a bookstore.
You should read the book that you see someone on the train reading and trying to hide that they’re laughing.
You should read the book that you see someone on the train reading and trying to hide that they’re crying.
You should read the book that you find left behind in the airplane seat pocket, on a park bench, on the bus, at a restaurant, or in a hotel room.
You should read the book that you see someone reading for hours in a coffee shop — there when you got there and still there when you left — that made you envious because you were working instead of absorbed in a book.
Reading isn’t JUST reading. It is not “just”. Reading is more than looking at words scrawled on a page, it’s like living a thousand different lives. Reading allows an escape. An escape from reality. Between the pages of a book is where I’d rather be, and where you’ll find me 24/7. I’m a professional fangirl, a Bookdragon, a bibliophile.
from your friendly neighborhood librarian:
all books are good books. you are not a “lesser reader” if you only read manga or comic books or a “better reader” for reading academic heavy texts.
reading is reading no matter what it is, be it a graphic novel, a romance, a classic, an audiobook, a picture book, a cookbook, fanfiction, fucking whatever, read what makes you happy
reading is supposed to be fun and don’t let elitism sap any joy out of it
You know that moment when you’re reading a book and you just have to stop and bite your lip and squeal or sigh or close your eyes and wrinkle your nose and forehead and press the book against your heart and just like sit there and try to soak up the gorgeous literature via osmosis?
That’s my favorite part of reading.
I’m the kind of person who cannottttttt give up on a book. No matter how much I hate it or how boring I find it, I have to keep reading until the end. It’s a painful and frustrating struggle. I just want this book to end so I can be done with it, but I also have no interest and no motivation to finish reading. HELP

Am I the only one who gets pumped full of energy after finishing a book? Like, even if the book totally destroys me emotionally and I sob uncontrollably while reading it, when I finish it, I fill with this kind of adrenaline and I just want to run around town thrusting the book in people’s faces and scream “READ THIS!”
This is it. This is the feeling. People ask me why I want to read a book that I know will make me cry.
This is it.
This is the feeling.
